In the early eighties when the revival was great, the Holy Spirit moved the country and churches were being “birthed” through the ministry of various people who heard God and obeyed the Holy Spirit to go and fulfill the Great Commission. Bro. Joseph Samson, then a neophyte in the ministry was used by God to plant churches nationwide and helped stabilize churches in some parts of the world.

THE KING’S HIGHWAY

The widespread revival led to the formation of the “Project: King’s Highway” which is a vision of the Lord given to Bro. Joseph E. Samson in 1983. The project was used by God mightily establishing Bible Studies which in time will become a regular worship service until it becomes a local church able to produce its own outreaches.

From Makati, the Lord led the team “King’s Highway” to other cities in the Metro Manila area to other parts of Luzon, and then to the Visayas and Mindanao areas – a church was expanding. The vision was to plant centers that will serve as Worship, Outreach, Relationship, and Discipleship centers in every key towns and cities.

THE FOUNDATION OF THE CHURCH

One of the churches planted by the King’s Highway project was in Imus, Cavite. While on a vacation, Pastor Joseph E. Samson led by the Holy Spirit started a small bible study among the construction workers at the subdivision where he moved. The bible study group gave birth to another bible study group among the homeowners when Pastor Samson was elected as the president of the Homeowners association of the Gardenville Subdivision. Then the two bible studies gave birth to the first worship service at the garden of Pastor Samson’s residence.

One of the churches planted by the King’s Highway project headed by Brother Joseph E. Samson was in Imus, Cavite. It was established first as “The Word for the World Christian Fellowship.” But just after a month of operation the WWCF was split and the new church was renamed “The Word International Ministries.” After 13 years, the church adopted a new name not only to give the church a name but also to propagate the name of Jesus as the Blessed Word.

On February 27, 2009, the church registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as The Blessed Word Int’l Church.
