Today the world is in chaos. Experiencing a pandemic which is causing a lot of panic and fear. Fear has gripped the populace. What then should we do to be able to stand firm and remain sane safe. How can we strong and survive this pandemic? Definitely, being in a quarantine or lockdown is very helpful in stopping the virus that we are now experiencing. But more than that WE NEED TO HAVE A STRONG FAITH IN THE LORD and understand why we need to understand about being quarantined?
In the book of Genesis 6, God saw how wicked man has become, therefore, He decided to punish them by means of flood. He told Noah, the man found righteous by God, to build an ark and get inside it. Noah was told to isolate or quarantine himself, his family and the animals before the flood. Noah by faith obeyed God and was saved. A quarantine is a period of 40 days to prevent disease or pest from spreading. Inside the ark they are safe and secured because they were anchored well in the hands of God. Life inside the ark was not the most pleasant experience on earth but the safest and secured.
“What kept Noah and his family inside the ark for 40 days?” (Gen 7:7). Well, it was the flood outside the Ark. Life inside the Ark was messy and difficult. But the life outside the ark, is more difficult and harsh! THOSE WHO OBEYED GOD WERE SAVED WHILE THOSE WHO DISOBEYED GOD PERISHED.
Obedience is about faith! Obedience to the Word of God is a must for all people.
Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden and they lost the wonderful life God has given. They were cast out from their isolation and thrown into the wilderness. Life inside the garden was paradise. But life outside the garden is wilderness.
Life was filled with various storms. Not a single day would come without us suffering from storms. Thus, we need to be quarantined from time to time to help us examine our lives and focus once again our eyes on God.
Let us be quarantined for God and focus on His goodness and see the difference it will make.
Today we are facing the most terrifying sickness around the world – THE COVID19. It would be best for all of us to stay in our rooms and wait for the coming of the Lord to stop the epidemic.
“Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by.” (Isaiah 26:20)
All is not lost! We have the Word of God as our Anchor! We just need to live by faith and obey every command of the Lord.
As in the case of Noah, because by faith he obeyed God — he was remembered by the Lord Almighty and all the wild animals and the livestock, that were with him in the ark (Genesis 8:1), and so God caused the rain to stop and the flood to recede. In times of storms we need anchors for stability and victory.
To beat the storms of life, we need an anchor to keep us in place, to keep us from being swept toward the rocky shore, to keep us from capsizing and sinking. To bring stability in life is by having a strong faith in God.
Our faith in Jesus gives us a strong foundation and anchor to keep us stable and safe.
Let us demonstrate genuine faith in God and see watch what He will do before our eyes. We are known to be resilient people but in our resiliency let us show and display true faith in God who is protector of our lives.
Have faith in God and be saved!
